16th Annual Steps for Sickle Cell Walk

16th Annual Steps for Sickle Cell Walk at MaryAnn Flunder Lodge at the Lake

This community gathering celebrates the 16th year of Steps for Sickle Cell, organized by the Uriel E. Owens Sickle Cell Disease Association of the Midwest during Sickle Cell Awareness Month. The event brings together people living with sickle cell disease, their families, healthcare providers, and community partners to raise awareness and support. You'll find a walking component at the heart of the event, along with vendor booths, live music, and giveaways throughout the day. Families will appreciate the range of activities on offer. Kids can enjoy designated activities and entertainment, while parents can explore community resources and connect with organizations and sponsors involved in sickle cell care and advocacy. There's also a special recognition ceremony for Warriors and a 45th Anniversary Tribute. Pancakes will be served. Admission is free for individuals living with sickle cell disease and children 12 and under, with Community Supporter registration at $15 and a Champion Package option at $25.
