Beginner's Stained Glass Workshop

Beginner's Stained Glass Workshop

Learn stained glass soldering and create a frog & lilypad hanging.

Create your own decorative stained glass piece in this hands-on three-hour workshop held at the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens. You'll work with pre-cut glass shapes to make a frog and lilypad design, learning essential techniques like foiling and soldering from instructor Tara of Lost and Found Design. All supplies are provided, and this is a lead-free project, though it does involve working with chemicals and high-temperature equipment. This class is designed for adults 18 and older. You'll need to wear closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing; an apron or long-sleeved shirt you don't mind getting on is recommended due to chemical exposure. Protective gear including gloves, masks, and eyewear will be provided as needed. Because spaces are limited, registering early is important. The workshop costs $95 per person and meets in the Education Center.
