Chinese Harvest Celebration

Chinese Harvest Celebration

Free cultural celebration of Chinese harvest traditions for families.

The Museum of Kansas City is hosting a Chinese Harvest Celebration where families can learn about and experience traditions tied to this important cultural observance. The free admission program includes time slots at 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m., making it easy to fit into your schedule. Since space is limited, you'll need to reserve your spot in advance. If your family wants to dive deeper into the celebration, the museum is also offering a "Build Your Own Mooncake" activity on the same day at 2:15 p.m. or 3:15 p.m. sessions. This hands-on experience costs $25 per person and gives kids a chance to create and take home their own mooncakes—a traditional treat enjoyed during harvest festivals. Advance registration is required for both the celebration and the mooncake workshop since both have limited capacity.
