Cottonwood Tales

Join O.P. the Bookworm for nature-themed storytelling at Overland Park Arboretum.

Bring your young child to an interactive story time adventure at the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens. Led by beloved characters O.P. the Bookworm and Miss Laurel, children enjoy nature-themed stories, fingerplays, and music designed to spark imagination and learning. Sessions last about 30 minutes and happen on the first Saturday of each month (except July). Depending on the weather, your group will either gather indoors at the Education Center or venture outside for an engaging morning. This program works wonderfully for families with children under five and builds early literacy and math skills through playful interaction. A caregiver must attend and register for the event. The $5 program fee applies per child participant, while caregivers and additional siblings only need to pay standard Arboretum admission (free for ages 5 and under, $3 for ages 6โ€“17, $7 for ages 18+). Registration is available online through the provided ticket link.
