Cottonwood Tales

Monthly storytelling adventure at Overland Park Arboretum with O.P. the Bookworm and friends.

Bring your young explorer to Cottonwood Tales, an interactive story time experience at the Arboretum & Botanical Gardens. Each month, children gather with O.P. the Bookworm, Miss Laurel, and friends for 30 minutes of nature-inspired stories, fingerplays, and songs. The program meets indoors at the Education Center or outdoors (weather permitting), blending storytelling fun with early literacy and math skill-building in a playful garden setting. This program is designed for families with children under 5 and requires caregiver participation and advance registration. The program fee is $5 per child participant; caregivers and siblings only pay standard Arboretum admission (free for ages 5 and under, $3 for ages 6โ€“17, $7 for adults 18+). Story time runs monthly on the first Saturday at 10 a.m., with July being the only exception. Register online through the link provided on the event page.
