Cottonwood Tales at the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens

Cottonwood Tales at the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens

Storytime among the gardens at Overland Park Arboretum.

Join O.P. the Bookworm and Miss Laurel for Cottonwood Tales, a 45-minute interactive story time designed for young children. Each session features nature-inspired stories, fingerplays, and songs that spark curiosity while building early literacy and math skills. Depending on the weather, your group will either gather indoors at the Education Center or venture outside onto the grounds for an engaging morning experience. This program runs on the first Saturday of most months and requires caregiver participation and advance registration. The $5 fee covers each child participant, while caregivers and siblings only need to pay standard Arboretum admission (free for ages 5 and under, $3 for ages 6โ€“17, and $7 for adults). It's a wonderful way to combine outdoor exploration with storytelling in a beautiful natural setting.
