Cottonwood Tales at the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens
Outdoor storytelling at Overland Park Arboretum surrounded by beautiful gardens and nature.
Your young children are invited to join O.P. the Bookworm, Miss Laurel, and friends for an interactive story time built around nature. The program features engaging tales with fingerplays and musical activities designed to spark curiosity while supporting early literacy and math skills. Sessions happen on the first Saturday of each month (except July), gathering at the Education Center or venturing outdoors when weather permits for a 45-minute experience.
Registration is required, and caregivers must attend. The program costs $5 per child participant, while caregivers and siblings only pay Arboretum admission fees. General admission rates are free for ages 5 and under, $3 for ages 6–17, and $7 for adults. This is a wonderful way to combine storytelling, outdoor exploration, and learning in one outing.
