Cottonwood Tales
Join O.P. the Bookworm for nature-themed storytelling at Overland Park Arboretum.
Bring your young child to Cottonwood Tales, an interactive story time experience at the Arboretum's Education Center. Each month, children gather with O.P. the Bookworm and Miss Laurel to enjoy nature-inspired stories, fingerplays, and songs. This 30-minute program is designed especially for little ones and weaves in early literacy and math skills through playful activities. Weather permitting, the group may venture outdoors to explore the gardens during the session.
This program works best for families with children under five. A caregiver must attend and register for the event. The program fee is $5 per child participant, while caregivers and siblings only need to pay regular Arboretum admission (which is free for children 5 and under). The group meets on the first Saturday of each month except July. Registration is required and can be completed online through the Arboretum's ticketing system.
