Explore Our Stories: Free Museum Days with Your Library Card

Free admission to Shawnee Town 1929 with your library card—explore local history.

This summer, your library card opens doors to free museum admission as part of a nationwide celebration of American history and culture. Head to Shawnee Town 1929 and simply show your library card to get in at no cost on select days throughout the season. It's a wonderful opportunity for families to discover local history, reflect on our shared heritage, and enjoy some quality time together exploring what these cultural spaces have to offer. On Wednesdays at Shawnee Town, you'll find an added bonus: a special program called Read to a Rooster. Before your visit, we recommend reaching out to the museum directly, as some locations may have specific themes or entry requirements that vary. If you have questions about accessibility or need any accommodations to make your visit comfortable, contact the library at ask@jocolibrary.org or 913-826-4600 at least two weeks ahead of time.
