FOTZ Early Days

Friends of the Zoo members get an exclusive perk during the summer months with these early-morning sessions. You'll arrive at 9:00 am on select Saturdays and Sundays to explore Zoo Central, Australasia, and Tiger Trail before the general public arrives. Several attractions open early just for this program, including the KC Zoo Railroad, Flying Flamingo ride, Endangered Species Carousel, and Beastro Cafe. The Africa section opens at its regular 9:30 am time. This is a great way to beat the heat and enjoy a quieter experience with the animals during the cooler morning hours. The early access is completely free for FOTZ members—no additional ticket required. If you're not yet a member, this program is just one of several year-round perks worth considering. Families with young children or those who prefer a less crowded atmosphere will especially appreciate the calm, early-morning setting to see animals and enjoy the rides.
