FOTZ Early Days

FOTZ Early Days gives members a chance to explore the Kansas City Zoo before the crowds arrive and temperatures climb. Starting at 9:00 am on select Saturdays and Sundays throughout the summer months, you'll have early access to Zoo Central, Australasia, and Tiger Trail. Several family favorites open early too, including the KC Zoo Railroad, carousel, and Beastro Cafe, so you can grab breakfast or a snack while the zoo is quieter. The Africa section opens at its regular time of 9:30 am, weather permitting. This program is exclusively for Friends of the Zoo members, and admission is included with your membership—no additional ticket required. It's an ideal way to beat the heat and enjoy the animals during cooler morning hours when they're often more active. If you're not yet a member, this is one of many year-round perks worth considering. Plan to arrive right at 9:00 am to make the most of your early-access time.
