Free Weekend Fun: Bach to Nature
Create art inspired by Bach's music while exploring nature at the Nelson-Atkins.
Your family is invited to create art inspired by music at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. During this program, you'll listen to Bach's Goldberg Variations while making your own artistic creations. Kids will rub rose leaves to create interesting patterns and use collage techniques to build unique pieces, all inspired by artist Farhad Ostovani's approach of translating musical compositions into visual art.
Best of all, this activity is completely free. The program runs weekly from November through January, with sessions held at 11 a.m. No registration or tickets are required—just show up and enjoy a morning of creativity with your kids. It's a wonderful way to introduce children to both classical music and hands-on art-making in a welcoming museum setting.
