Free Weekend Fun: Nouveau Notes
Create a time-telling tool and explore how cultures measure time at the Nelson-Atkins.
Bring your family to the Nelson-Atkins Museum for a creative afternoon of hands-on art activities. In the Bloch Building lobby, kids can design their own postcards inspired by the work of artist Alfonse Mucha. Then head into Gallery 128 to explore how artists use color, shape, and line to create striking artwork—Museum Guide volunteers will be on hand to help guide your discovery.
This drop-in event is completely free and requires no registration, making it easy to fit into your weekend plans. Activities run from 1 to 4 p.m., so you can arrive whenever works best for your family and stay as long as you'd like. The Nelson-Atkins is known throughout Kansas City for offering world-class art experiences at no cost, and this weekend program is a perfect way to introduce children to creativity and artistic techniques.
