Free Weekend Fun: Nouveau Notes
Free family craft time exploring time-telling across cultures at Nelson-Atkins Museum.
Spend an afternoon creating and exploring art at the Nelson-Atkins Museum. In the Bloch Building lobby, your family can design your own postcard inspired by the elegant, decorative style of artist Alphonse Mucha. Then head to Gallery 128 to discover how artists use color, shapes, and lines to craft beautiful works—Museum Guide volunteers will be on hand to help you look closely and ask questions.
This is a completely free drop-in activity with no registration needed, so you can show up anytime during the three-hour window and stay as long as you'd like. It's a great way to introduce kids to art appreciation in a hands-on, interactive way. Best of all, you'll have access to the rest of the museum's galleries afterward if you want to keep exploring.
