GloWild: Hidden Treasure at Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium
GloWild: Hidden Treasure transforms the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium into a glowing nighttime adventure after dark. You and your family will follow a mile-long illuminated path designed like a treasure hunt, complete with lighted sculptures depicting shipwrecks, buried treasure sites, expedition camps, and jungle landscapes. Created by over 150 artisans using thousands of feet of fabric and steel, these handcrafted displays feature clues and artifacts that guide you deeper into the discovery. The experience is designed to take about an hour to complete and includes photo opportunities throughout the journey.
Plan your visit for Wednesday through Sunday evenings from 6 to 10 p.m. On Wednesday nights, you'll also have access to Sobela Ocean Aquarium as part of your admission. Kids can ride the Endangered Species Carousel free from 6 to 9 p.m. (weather permitting). The path is one-way, and concessions and entertainment are available along the route. Check the zoo's operating calendar before your visit, as the event is closed Mondays and Tuesdays except during Thanksgiving week. Tickets are required for entry.
