GloWild: Hidden Treasure

GloWild: Hidden Treasure at Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium

GloWild: Hidden Treasure is an evening light festival that transforms the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium into an adventure after dark. Your family will follow a mile-long glowing path designed to feel like a real treasure hunt, complete with immersive scenes of ancient shipwrecks, buried treasure sites, expedition camps, and jungle landscapes. Everything is made from hand-crafted lighted sculptures created by over 150 artisans using steel and fabric. Plan for about an hour to complete the route, which includes photo opportunities, food options, and entertainment along the way. The festival runs from 6 to 10 p.m. on Wednesdays through Sundays (closed Mondays and Tuesdays except during Thanksgiving week). Kids will enjoy riding the Endangered Species Carousel for free between 6 and 9 p.m. on eligible nights. Wednesday visitors get bonus access to Sobela Ocean Aquarium during their visit. The event features seasonal-themed lanterns and activities to keep the experience fresh. Be sure to check the operating calendar for specific dates, as some blackout dates may apply.
