GloWild: Hidden Treasure

GloWild: Hidden Treasure transforms the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium into a glowing nighttime adventure featuring an entirely new theme this fall. You and your family will follow a mile-long illuminated path designed as a treasure hunt, encountering elaborate lighted sculptures inspired by shipwrecks, buried treasure sites, expedition camps, and jungle landscapes. The handcrafted displays—created from steel and fabric by over 150 artisans—guide you through clues and artifacts as you explore this immersive world filled with discovery moments and photo opportunities. Plan for about an hour to complete the full route, with the experience open from 6–10 pm on Wednesdays through Sundays. The Endangered Species Carousel offers free rides Wednesday through Friday from 6–9 pm (weather permitting), and Wednesday visitors can also access Sobela Ocean Aquarium during their visit. Food and beverages are available along the path, and seasonal-themed activities add extra fun to the experience. The zoo's operating calendar shows blackout dates and scheduling details, so check before you go to confirm hours for your visit.
