GloWild: Hidden Treasure

After dark, the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium transforms into a glowing adventure park where families follow a mile-long illuminated path in search of hidden treasure. The journey takes you through scenes inspired by shipwrecks, buried treasure sites, expedition camps, and overgrown jungles—all brought to life with intricate lighted sculptures crafted from steel and fabric. Along the way, you'll discover clues, artifacts, and displays that guide you deeper into the treasure hunt experience, with plenty of photo opportunities throughout. Plan for about an hour to complete the route at a comfortable pace. The experience runs from 6 to 10 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday, with Mondays and Tuesdays closed (except during Thanksgiving week). Visitors can ride the Endangered Species Carousel for free between 6 and 9 p.m. when weather allows. On Wednesdays, admission includes access to Sobela Ocean Aquarium. The zoo offers food and drink options along the path, and you can check the operating calendar online for any scheduling changes before your visit.
