GloWild: Hidden Treasure

After dark, the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium transforms into a glowing nighttime adventure with GloWild: Hidden Treasure. Following a mile-long illuminated path, your family becomes treasure hunters exploring scenes inspired by ancient shipwrecks, buried treasure sites, jungle camps, and more. Handcrafted lighted sculptures—made by 151 artisans using steel and thousands of feet of fabric—guide you through clues and artifacts, creating an immersive discovery experience at every turn. The journey takes roughly an hour to complete and includes plenty of photo opportunities along the way. The experience runs from 6 to 10 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday (closed Mondays and Tuesdays except during Thanksgiving week), so be sure to check the operating calendar. Families can enjoy free rides on the Endangered Species Carousel from 6 to 9 p.m. (weather permitting), and Wednesday visitors get bonus access to Sobela Ocean Aquarium. Food and entertainment options are available throughout the path. This event offers a unique way to experience the Zoo in a magical evening setting.
