GloWild: Hidden Treasure at Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium
GloWild: Hidden Treasure transforms the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium into a glowing nighttime adventure this fall. You and your family will follow a mile-long illuminated path designed to feel like a real treasure hunt, complete with themed scenes inspired by shipwrecks, buried treasure sites, expedition camps, and jungle landscapes. Each turn reveals intricately crafted light sculptures made with thousands of feet of fabric and tons of steel, along with clues and artifacts to guide your exploration. The experience typically takes about an hour to complete and includes plenty of photo opportunities throughout.
The event runs from 6 to 10 p.m. on Wednesdays through Sundays, with food and entertainment available along the route. An added bonus: ride the Endangered Species Carousel free from 6 to 9 p.m. (weather permitting), and on Wednesday nights, you'll have access to Sobela Ocean Aquarium as part of your visit. Be sure to check the zoo's operating calendar before you go, as the event is closed Mondays and Tuesdays except during Thanksgiving week. Ticket pricing varies by date, so visiting their website will help you plan your outing.
