GloWild: Hidden Treasure

GloWild: Hidden Treasure transforms the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium into a glowing nighttime adventure centered around discovering lost treasure. Families follow a mile-long illuminated path featuring handcrafted lighted sculptures inspired by shipwrecks, buried treasure sites, expedition camps, and jungle landscapes. The artisan-made displays—constructed from steel and fabric by over 150 craftspeople—create an immersive experience where clues and artifacts guide visitors deeper into the journey. Plan for about 60 minutes to complete the route, which includes photo opportunities, food vendors, and entertainment along the way. The experience runs from 6 to 10 pm on Wednesday through Sunday evenings. On Wednesdays, visitors also get access to the Sobela Ocean Aquarium during their visit. Young children can enjoy a free ride on the Endangered Species Carousel between 6 and 9 pm (weather permitting). Check the zoo's operating calendar for the full schedule, as the event is closed Mondays and Tuesdays except during Thanksgiving week.
