GloWild: Hidden Treasure

GloWild: Hidden Treasure

Glowing nighttime adventure at the Kansas City Zoo featuring magical lights and themed experiences.

GloWild returns this fall as an after-hours experience transforming the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium into a glowing nighttime adventure. Your family will walk a mile-long illuminated path themed around hidden treasure, encountering lighted sculptures depicting ancient shipwrecks, buried treasure sites, expedition camps, and jungle landscapes. Created by over 150 artisans using thousands of feet of fabric and steel, each display is packed with clues, artifacts, and interactive elements that make the journey feel like a true treasure hunt. Plan for about an hour to complete the route at your own pace. The experience runs Wednesday through Sunday evenings from 6–10 pm, with the mile-long path opening as soon as the gates do at 6 pm. Your visit includes access to food and drinks along the route, photo opportunities at scenic displays, and entertainment throughout. On Wednesdays, you'll also have access to Sobela Ocean Aquarium. Kids can enjoy free carousel rides from 6–9 pm (weather permitting). The Zoo is closed Mondays and Tuesdays except during Thanksgiving week, so check the operating calendar before you go. Tickets are available online, and the site has additional festival details and a pricing calendar showing any blackout dates.
