GloWild: Hidden Treasure
Glowing nighttime treasure hunt through the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium.
Step into an evening adventure at the Zoo as it transforms into a glowing nighttime expedition. This fall's all-new theme invites families to follow a mile-long path filled with hand-crafted lighted sculptures inspired by shipwrecks, buried treasure, expedition camps, and jungle landscapes. Created by over 150 artisans using steel and thousands of feet of fabric, these intricate displays guide you through a treasure-hunt experience complete with clues and photo opportunities at every turn. Plan for about an hour to complete the route, which opens at 6 pm nightly.
The experience runs Wednesday through Sunday evenings, with special perks throughout the season. Wednesday visitors get bonus access to Sobela Ocean Aquarium, and the free Endangered Species Carousel runs from 6–9 pm (weather permitting). Food and entertainment options are available along the path, making this a complete evening outing. The Zoo closes Mondays and Tuesdays (except during Thanksgiving week), so check their operating calendar before your visit. Tickets are required, and pricing may vary by date—their calendar shows current rates and any blackout dates you should know about.
