GloWild: Hidden Treasure

Step into an evening adventure as the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium transforms into a glowing expedition after dark. This fall's all-new theme takes families on a treasure-hunting journey through a mile-long illuminated path, where you'll encounter scenes inspired by shipwrecks, buried treasure sites, jungle camps, and more. The handcrafted displays—made by 151 artisans using steel and fabric—feature intricate lighted sculptures, mysterious clues, and artifacts that guide you deeper into the experience. Plan for about 60 minutes to complete the route, with plenty of photo opportunities and spots to grab snacks along the way. The event runs Wednesday through Sunday from 6 to 10 p.m., so plan an evening outing with your kids. On Wednesdays, visitors get bonus access to Sobela Ocean Aquarium. Children can also enjoy the free Endangered Species Carousel ride between 6 and 9 p.m. (weather permitting), and seasonal-themed lantern activities add extra excitement.
