GloWild: Hidden Treasure

Step into an evening of glowing adventure as the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium transforms into an immersive treasure-hunting experience. You and your family will follow a mile-long illuminated path lined with handcrafted lighted sculptures, discovering scenes inspired by ancient shipwrecks, buried treasure sites, overgrown jungles, and expedition camps. Along the way, clues and artifacts guide you deeper into the adventure, making it feel like a real hidden treasure hunt. Created by 151 artisans using over 34 tons of steel and 89,000 feet of fabric, these intricate displays offer plenty of photo opportunities and reveal something new around every corner. Plan to spend about an hour walking the full route at your own pace. The experience opens at 6 pm, with entertainment, food options, and activities available throughout. You can also ride the Endangered Species Carousel free from 6 to 9 pm (weather permitting). On Wednesdays, you'll have the bonus of exploring Sobela Ocean Aquarium during your visit. The event runs Wednesday through Sunday evenings, with special seasonal-themed lanterns and activities to enjoy.
