GloWild: Hidden Treasure
Glowing nighttime adventure at Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium.
GloWild: Hidden Treasure transforms the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium into an enchanting nighttime adventure this fall. Visitors follow a mile-long glowing path designed like a treasure hunt, discovering illuminated scenes inspired by shipwrecks, buried treasure sites, expedition camps, and jungle landscapes. Created by over 150 artisans using thousands of feet of fabric and steel, the handmade sculptures and dazzling displays guide families through an immersive experience that typically takes about an hour to complete. Along the way, you'll find plenty of photo opportunities, plus food and entertainment options throughout.
The experience runs Wednesday through Sunday evenings from 6 to 10 p.m., with the lantern paths available as soon as the gates open. Special perks include free rides on the Endangered Species Carousel from 6 to 9 p.m. (weather dependent), and on Wednesdays, visitors can also explore Sobela Ocean Aquarium during their visit. The event features seasonal-themed lanterns and activities to keep things fresh. Check the zoo's operating calendar for specific dates, as the event is closed Mondays and Tuesdays except during Thanksgiving week.
