GloWild: Hidden Treasure

After dark, the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium transforms into a glowing adventure zone with GloWild: Hidden Treasure. You and your family will follow a mile-long illuminated path through scenes inspired by shipwrecks, treasure sites, jungle camps, and expedition landscapes. The handcrafted displays—built from over 34 tons of steel and featuring 89,000 feet of fabric—guide you through a treasure hunt experience complete with clues, artifacts, and dazzling light sculptures created by 151 artisans. Expect plenty of photo opportunities along the way, and plan for about an hour to complete the route. The experience runs from 6 to 10 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday, with Mondays and Tuesdays closed (except Thanksgiving week). Kids can enjoy the Endangered Species Carousel free from 6 to 9 p.m. when weather allows. On Wednesdays, visitors also get access to Sobela Ocean Aquarium.
