Hands-on History (Sept. 2026)

Hands-on History brings World War I to life through direct engagement with real artifacts. During this family-friendly program, visitors of all ages get the chance to actually handle genuine Great War objects, making history tangible and memorable. It's a wonderful way for kids and adults alike to connect with the past beyond what you'd experience in a traditional museum exhibit. This program runs on select Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays throughout September at the National WWI Museum and Memorial. It's ideal for families looking for an interactive museum experience that goes beyond looking at displays behind glass. Your children will have the opportunity to touch and explore pieces of history while learning about this significant period.
