History Highlights Tour: Technology in 1920s America

Guided history tour on 1920s technology at Shawnee Town 1929.

**History Highlights Tour: Technology in 1920s America** Step back in time at Shawnee Town 1929 for a guided tour focused on how technology transformed American life in the 1920s. You'll explore the innovations that shaped daily life a century ago—from electricity and telephones to automobiles, gas stations, and packaged foods—and learn how people adapted to these rapid changes. A knowledgeable museum staff member will lead your group through the town and farm, sharing favorite stories and pointing out interesting artifacts along the way. This tour works well for families with kids in 5th grade and up. It's included with general admission, and here's a bonus: admission is completely free if you bring a valid Johnson County Library card (during the 10 a.m.–noon window). Spots fill on a first-come, first-served basis, so arriving early is a good idea. Members of the Friends of Shawnee Town receive free admission based on their membership level.
