How to Make Yarn: Kids Workshop

Ever wonder what holds yarn together? Kids ages 9 through 16 will find out firsthand in this hands-on workshop at the Arboretum. Using a drop spindle, participants will learn the craft of making their own yarn from scratch. The $65 class fee covers all materials needed, plus each child takes home extra wool to continue practicing at home. While your child is spinning yarn, you're welcome to wander the beautiful arboretum grounds and enjoy the gardens. This workshop is designed as a kid-friendly version of a more advanced class, so it's perfect for young crafters curious about fiber arts and looking for something different to try this summer.
