Kaw Valley Farm Tour

Farm tour at Kaw Valley Farms in Lawrence showcasing local agricultural life.

Spend a weekend exploring the farms and rural heritage of Northeast Kansas with the Kaw Valley Farm Tour. This self-guided event lets your family visit local farms across the region, meet the farmers who grow our food, and discover what agriculture looks like in the Kaw Valley. You'll have the flexibility to plan your own route using the digital map provided, visiting whichever farms and heritage sites interest you most. With 33 farms and 6 heritage sites participating, you can realistically see about 4 or 5 locations each day. A single $15 ticket per car covers entry for the entire weekend. You can purchase your ticket online and receive a digital confirmation, then swap it for a physical guidebook and map at the first farm you visit. Fair warning: the tour spans rural areas with unpaved roads and spotty cell service, so plan your route ahead of time and come prepared for any weather. Leave your pets at home, bring a cooler for fresh produce purchases, and pack water and snacks just in case. This event welcomes everyone—whether your family loves animals, history, fresh food, flowers, or just exploring the countryside.
