Night at the Arboretum

Explore the Overland Park Arboretum after dark during this special evening event. You and your family will discover the gardens in a completely different way as night falls, with opportunities to stargaze using large telescopes and learn about the constellations overhead. The evening also features activities focused on nocturnal animals and their nighttime behaviors—all included with your regular admission ticket. If you'd like to add more to your visit, a glow hike begins at 6:30pm and departs from the Hilltop Terrace at LongHouse. Just wear comfortable hiking clothes appropriate for the evening weather. The arboretum will provide glowing accessories to light your way, though you're welcome to bring your own. This is a great outing for families with children who are curious about nature, animals, and the night sky.
