OpenStreetsPGH (Downtown + South Side)

Free street festival in Downtown & South Side Pittsburgh—explore neighborhoods car-free.

Two miles of Pittsburgh streets will be closed to cars, opening up space for families to move through the city however they like—walking, biking, running, skating, or dancing. BikePGH hosts this free community event to give everyone a chance to experience streets designed for people. You'll find fitness classes, local food vendors, and activities run by neighborhood organizations throughout the route, which winds through Market Square, up Forbes Avenue, through the Armstrong Tunnel, and across to East Carson Street on the South Side. This is a casual, come-as-you-are kind of day. Whether you want to stroll at your own pace or try something active, there's room for all energy levels. Water stations and first aid are set up at activity hubs along the way, so bring a reusable water bottle and plan to stay hydrated. The event runs rain or shine, so dress accordingly. You can find the specific route details, full activity schedule, and transportation information on the OpenStreetsPGH website.
