Public Overnights at the Kansas City Zoo

Your family can spend the night exploring the Kansas City Zoo in a way that daytime visits don't allow. These overnight experiences are designed for children ages 5 and up, with each session centered around a specific animal or habitat theme. You'll choose between indoor programs (staying in climate-controlled areas like the Penguin Plaza or Savannah) or outdoor camping in the Africa Campground. Both options include educational activities and hands-on learning about the animals you're focusing on that evening. Indoor overnights run from 7 p.m. to 8 a.m. and cost between $55–$100 per person, depending on the location. Outdoor Africa Campground experiences run 6 p.m. to 8 a.m. and cost $65 per person. If you're a member of Friends of the Zoo (FOTZ), you'll receive a 10% discount on all programs. The September 26 date features an Outdoor Africa Campground overnight focused on learning about the African plains.
