Read to a Therapy Dog

Read to a Therapy Dog

Read to friendly therapy dogs at West Wyandotte Library—great for building reading confidence.

This is a gentle, interactive program where children read aloud to trained therapy dogs. Therapy dogs are calm, specially-trained animals that provide comfort and encouragement in educational settings. Kids of all reading levels benefit from the low-pressure environment—dogs don't judge—which can build confidence and a love of reading. It's a wonderful way for children to practice their skills while enjoying the companionship of a patient animal listener.
