Skateboarding 101

Three-session beginner skateboarding class teaching tricks and park etiquette.

Skateboarding 101 introduces young riders to the sport in a welcoming, structured environment. Your child will learn skate park etiquette and the unwritten rules that make the community enjoyable for everyone. The instructor covers essential fundamentals like balance and basic skills, then moves into simple tricks—all designed with beginners in mind. This three-session class is the perfect way to build confidence on a board. The program meets three times starting in early August at Lea McKeighan North Park. Whether your child is brand new to skateboarding or just wants to learn the right way to do it, this class emphasizes both fun and respect for the skate community. It's a great introduction to a sport that's as much about community as it is about the ride itself.
