Summer Activities: Love — 1860s Style!
Step back in time at a historic farm exploring 1860s love and daily life traditions.
Spend a day exploring life and romance during the 1860s at this themed summer program. Your family will rotate through hands-on stations designed around this week's special focus while also enjoying the site's year-round living history offerings. Tour the historic farmhouse, watch skilled demonstrations of blacksmithing and cookstove cooking, meet farm animals, and help out in the garden. Kids can play period-appropriate games, ride the stagecoach, and learn about agricultural heritage in the livestock barn.
The program runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., so you can stay as long as you'd like. Admission is $9 for adults and $7 for children ages 5–11; children 4 and under get in free. Your admission ticket covers all activities—nothing extra to purchase. If you're planning to bring a group of 10 or more, reach out in advance to register. It's a great way for families to experience hands-on history while staying active during the summer season.
