The Berlin Wall: A World Divided

The Berlin Wall: A World Divided

Educational exhibition on Cold War history at Union Station.

This exhibition brings one of the 20th century's most pivotal moments directly to visitors at Union Station. You'll encounter actual sections of the Berlin Wall alongside more than 200 authentic artifacts, allowing your family to stand face-to-face with history. The experience spans nearly three decades of Cold War tension, featuring immersive environments that recreate what daily life was like in a divided Berlin—complete with checkpoints, surveillance, and the constant fear that shaped an entire generation. Beyond the physical artifacts, the exhibition centers on the personal stories of real people who lived through this era. Your children will hear firsthand accounts from those who experienced separation from loved ones, made impossible choices, and resisted oppression. The exhibition invites visitors to grapple with difficult questions about freedom and family. Tickets range from $15 for children ages 4–12 and EBT cardholders to $26 for seniors, with group rates available when booking in advance. Note that bags aren't permitted inside the exhibition space. The exhibition is now open with extended hours throughout the week.
