The Pigeon Comes to Kansas City! A Mo Willems Exhibit

Free exhibit celebrating Mo Willems' imagination, whimsy, and beloved characters.

Step into the creative world of beloved children's author and illustrator Mo Willems at this free exhibit featuring his most iconic characters. You'll encounter Elephant and Piggie, Knuffle Bunny, and of course The Pigeon—the mischievous bird from *Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!* The exhibition showcases original illustrations and works in progress alongside interactive activities where children can create their own art inspired by Willems' distinctive style and storytelling. This is a wonderful outing for kids ages 2 and up who love Mo Willems' books or are discovering his characters for the first time. The exhibit explores the emotional depth and humor that make his stories resonate with families. Best of all, admission is completely free. The exhibit opens Memorial Day weekend and runs through Labor Day, with standard hours Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. (with adjusted holiday hours on select dates). It's an engaging, low-cost way to celebrate stories and creativity right here at Crown Center.
