The Pigeon Comes to Kansas City! A Mo Willems Exhibit

Step into the imaginative world of Mo Willems at this free exhibit celebrating the beloved author and illustrator. Families will encounter iconic characters like Elephant and Piggie, Knuffle Bunny, and of course The Pigeon—the mischievous bird from "Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!" The exhibit showcases original illustrations and works in progress, giving you a behind-the-scenes look at how these characters come to life. Kids ages 2 through 12 will love the hands-on art activities designed to spark creativity inspired by Mo Willems' style. These stations help children explore the emotional depth and humor that make his books so special. There's no admission fee, making this a budget-friendly outing for the whole family. The exhibit runs from late May through early September, with typical hours Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. (Note that holiday weekends have adjusted hours.)
