The Pigeon Comes to Kansas City! A Mo Willems Exhibit

FREE exhibit celebrating Mo Willems' beloved characters at Crown Center.

This summer, bring your kids to explore the colorful world of Mo Willems at Crown Center. The free exhibit celebrates the beloved author-illustrator's most famous characters—Elephant and Piggie, Knuffle Bunny, and The Pigeon—through interactive activities and original artwork. Children can create their own art inspired by Mo Willems' distinctive style while learning about the emotional depth and humor in his stories. The exhibit also displays illustrations and works in progress, offering a behind-the-scenes look at how these characters come to life. This is a wonderful experience for young readers and fans of Mo Willems' books, especially children ages 2–12. Best of all, admission is completely free. The exhibit runs from late May through early September at Crown Center, with extended hours throughout the week to fit different family schedules. Whether your child is a longtime fan or discovering these characters for the first time, this hands-on experience brings the joy and imagination of Mo Willems' work right to Kansas City.
