Time-traveling Caterpillar Scavenger Hunt

Time-traveling Caterpillar Scavenger Hunt

Time-traveling scavenger hunt at The Frick Pittsburgh—adventure through art and history.

Kids can join in a free scavenger hunt that takes them on a tour through the Frick while they search for Gustave the Caterpillar hidden throughout the museum. The hunt ties in with the French Moderns exhibition, blending art exploration with a fun treasure-hunt activity. Families simply grab a scavenger hunt sheet at the Grable Visitor Center when they arrive, then explore the galleries to find all of Gustave's hiding spots. Once children complete the hunt, they return their sheet to staff at the front desk to receive a prize. This activity works well for families with kids who enjoy interactive adventures and learning about art. Best of all, there's no cost—the hunt is completely free and open to everyone. Just plan to check in at the Grable Visitor Center (the modern building at the end of the parking lot) when you first arrive so staff can direct you to get started.
