Weekly Class (7y-9y): Boat + Raft Challenges

STEM maker class: boat and raft engineering challenges for ages 7–9.

Kids ages 7 to 9 will spend an hour designing and constructing their own floating vessels at this hands-on maker workshop. Participants explore the fundamentals of what makes something seaworthy—considering how shape, weight distribution, and creative thinking all play a role in keeping a boat afloat. It's a great way for kids to learn through building and problem-solving. Once the boats and rafts are finished, the real fun begins. Makers get to test their creations in competitive activities, from racing to simulated water battles, to find out which designs hold up best. The session runs for one hour and costs $22 per child. This is a weekly recurring class, so families can sign up for a single session or make it a regular program.
